That’s right – Huddersfield. With a train station building massively out of proportion to the town which it serves.
The West Yorkshire Heritage Trail goes straight through the heart of this historic place. I re-walked the section from Brighouse at the weekend, even though I have done this many times and actually started out by cycling the route I will describe in the guide, though that was around five years ago now.
Along the way, I also came across this cool little place to stop and enjoy the spring flowers:
